Weeks 26 & 27

Well, we're 6 months from when we broke ground. Then Brian was thinking we'd be finished in mid-October, and now I think we're looking at mid-November, so it's not too much off the mark. :)

Last week they started putting down the floors.  We chose a wood-look ceramic tile for the main living areas and bathrooms. We chose tile because we wanted the look of wood but with more durability and less maintence.  That being said, I could not believe how much it looks like wood! I couldn't get a great picture of it (this is from the loft above)... But you get the idea.

Here's a closer up in the half bath... Whenever I take picture on my phone and put them on the blog, they're blurry. Sorry!

And I snapped this the night the clold front was coming. Beautiful!

Then this week, they came and worked on some trim. These are the dining room windows. I don't know how much you can tell about the detail above the windows, but I'm loving it! It's different, but has a classic, craftsman type look about it.

The middle of the entertainment center came and it's ginormous.  I doesn't look all that big in the picture, so I guess that means it looks to scale of the room. :). The door to the right is 8', the sides of the entertainment center are 10', and the middle is 12'.

Nearing the end is the most frustrating... Everything is looking so awesome and I can imagine how fun it will be to live there!! More to come!

Week 25

They cleaned up around the house and it looks so much better!  There's still a lot to do on the outside, but we're getting there.

In the living room, the sides of the entertainment center have been put up (the middle will be a little taller and hold the TV)...

And as you can see, I started trying out some paint swatches.  The swatch between the entertainment center sides and the swatch on the fireplace wall is the same color.  Seriously.  What the heck?

The cabinets were put up in the theater room nook. I have a feeling this will be the cool place to be. :)

My craft room has turned out awesome.  I have a ton of storage all down one wall...

And more storage on the other wall and I LOVE my island!

I have a feeling picking paint is going to be the death of me.  We are making lots of decisions at this point and I'm stressing out over whether I'm making the "right" ones.  I'm just picking what I like and hoping that it will all mesh well together.  We soon shall see. :)
