Weekly Update

Not a whole lot has happened this week (well, that you can tell from the picture).  But I'm going to try to update the blog often because Brian wants me to take pictures of each stage and if I'm pretty sure I'll forget what some pictures are if I don't write it down. :)

  This is the house as of Friday afternoon.

At the point, the holes for the piers have been dug and filled with concrete.  Brian has been visiting with the guys about the septic tank this week along with a lot of other behind the scenes things that I am SO thankful that I don't even have to do because he knows this business so well.  I appreciate him more than he knows.  For the fun news of the week, we went and picked out doors and windows this morning.  We have very similar taste, so it has been a breeze so far.  He picked out the main windows for the house and doors and I have a couple of specific windows that I wanted to be a little different - especially the kitchen one over the sink.  It's all very exciting. :) 

It begins...

Well, it's been 2 years since my last post.  The tank is not near as full, but the news is exciting! :)  We have started the process of building our dream home.  We bought this property 5 years ago knowing that we someday would be at this point, but I really can't believe it's already here.  Last Friday the dirt work started...

and finished up over the weekend.

Then today they came out and started the forms for the foundation.

Here the boys are in their "bedrooms". :)

Now they're standing in our fireplace in the master bedroom. :)

We of course have many months ahead of us, but I am excited about the process and ready to start this journey with my hubby. He has impressed me with the homes he has built in the past and I can't wait to see the end result with our house.  I know it'll be amazing... stay tuned!
